The inauguration ceremony was held in the Paranymph Hall of the University of Barcelona on 5 October 1983 and presided over by Mr. Jordi Pujol, First Minister of the Government of Catalonia; Dr. Antoni Maria Badia Margarit, Rector of the University of Barcelona, and the soprano Maria Victòria dels Àngels.
