Application procedure

Application form for admission to the UB

Once you have been selected or authorized by your home university to study temporarily at the UB, you should complete the corresponding application form and send it by internet to the UB. You should also make a sufficient number of copies of your application to complete the subsequent procedures.

Preliminary comments
  • Completion of this form does not mean you are automatically accepted as a temporary visiting student at the UB. You must also complete the admission procedure corresponding to your particular exchange program.
  • Please use CAPITAL LETTERS to fill in the application form.
  • Changes in personal data : If you see a mistake after saving your data, and you want to enter changes and reprint your application form, e-mail the exchange programs manager at the centre for which you have made the request (see contact details at Managers of UB faculties and schools and UB-affiliated centres ). Your exchange programs manager will reply as soon as possible, informing you that your application form is modified or cancelled, as you have requested. If the application is cancelled you will be informed that you can re-record your data.
  • If you need to print a new copy of your application form, once you have saved and confirmed your data, you can do it by going to the first screen and entering the application code.

Documents and application deadlines:

a. Students on ERASMUS PROGRAM
Documents

The following documents should be posted to the exchange programs manager at the faculty, school or centre in which you intend to study (see contact details for exchange programs managers at Managers of UB faculties and schools and UB-affiliated centres:

  • two copies of your application for admission duly completed and signed by your tutor at your home university;
  • a certificate signed by your home university attesting your participation on the program or agreement;
  • 2 passport-size photographs.
Recommended deadlines

You should send the above documents to your chosen faculty or school no later than:

  • June 14th (for students planning to study during winter semester or the full academic year 2013-2014);
  • November 15th (for students planning to study during the summer semester 2013-2014 who have not already sent in their applications).

The exchange programs manager at your future UB faculty or school or UB-affiliated centre will send you a document indicating whether or not you have been accepted.

b. Students covered by BILATERAL AGREEMENTS AND THE COIMBRA GROUP
Documents

The following documents should be posted to the International Mobility and Programs Office:

  • two copies of your application for admission duly completed and signed by your tutor at your home university;
  • a certificate signed by your home university attesting your participation on the program or agreement;
  • 2 passport-size photographs.

NOTE: If you are applying to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts, then you must also send a portfolio, in DIN A4 format with samples of the work you have completed.

Recommended deadlines

You should send the above documents to your chosen faculty or school no later than:

  • June 15th (for students planning to study during winter semester or the full academic year 2013-2014);
  • November 16th (for students planning to study during the summer semester 2013-2014 who have not already sent in their applications).

The exchange programs manager at your future UB faculty or school or UB-affiliated centre will send you a document indicating whether or not you have been accepted.

c. Students covered by specific AGREEMENTS with US UNIVERSITIES

You should ask your home university, or the exchange programs manager at the UB faculty or school in which you wish to study, which documents you need to send and the deadlines for doing so.

  • Note for students with specific USA agreements: Brethren Colleges Abroad (BCA), California-Illinois, Knox College, Dartmouth College: you only need to complete the online application form. Remember to keep a copy for yourself.
d. Students making INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION
 
Applicants must
  • be studying an undergraduate degree course at a foreign university or higher education institution when making the application (note that students who have finished their undergraduate degree course are not elegible to apply);
  • be studying courses similar to those chosen for study at the UB;
  • have sufficient knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish to be able to follow classes at the UB.

Students making individual applications must pay the academic registration fee. If you have institutional support for these fees, either in part or in full, you must inform the exchange programs manager at the UB faculty or school or UB-affiliated centre in which you intend to study and present the corresponding documents.

Documents

The following documents should be posted to the exchange programs manager (see Managers of UB faculties and schools and UB-affiliated centres ):

  • two copies of your application for admission signed by your tutor at your home university;
  • a letter of presentation signed by an academic responsible at your home university;
  • an original document and translation in either Catalan or Spanish listing the subjects you have studied at university and the grades awarded (note that this document does not have to be translated by a sworn translator;
  • the curriculum of the degree being studied at your home university (original document and translation);
  • of the European Union's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF or CEFR);
  • 2 passport-size photographs.
  • in those cases when the application is being made to the Faculty of Fine Arts, a portfolio, in format DIN A4, with visual information of your artistic work and projects completed;
  • in those cases when you have institutional support for enrolment fees, either in part or in full, the documents attesting to this support.

  • June 15th (for students planning to study in either semester of the academic year 2013-14);
  • November 16th (for students planning to study in the 2nd semester of the academic year 2013-2014 who have not already sent in their applications).
  • The exchange programs manager at your future UB faculty or school or UB-affiliated centre will send you a document indicating whether or not you have been accepted.

e. Students on the ERASMUS MUNDUS EXTERNAL COOPERATION WINDOWS PROGRAM
Documents

The following documents should be posted to the exchange programs manager at the faculty, school or centre in which you intend to study (see contact details for exchange programs managers at Managers of UB faculties and schools and UB-affiliated centres:

  • a scanned copy of your online application form for admission, duly completed and signed by the tutor at your home university.

NOTE: If you are applying to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts, the you must also send a portfolio in DIN A4 format with samples of the work you have completed, and this should be sent by post or email (in PDF format).
