Memorial conference of 1714 at the UB: the University in Cervera
The UB reflects on the consequences that the year 1714 had for universities on a memorial conference. First, the exhibition "La Universitat a Cervera. Commemoració del 1714 a la UB" is opened; it can be visited until 23 January 2015 at the Historic Building. Moreover, the vice-rector for Institutional Relations and Culture, Lourdes Cirlot, presents the catalogue of the exhibition, coordinated by the historian Pilar Mateo and edited by Publicacions i Edicions de la UB. In the course of the conference, the group Conjunt d'Antiga of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya offers a concert of Baroque music entitled "Músiques per als reis de Barcelona", which includes arias of operas premiered in Barcelona to honour Archduke Charles and his wife, Elisabeth of Brunswick.
