Next Monday, 20 April, at 4.30 p.m., the Aula Magna of the Historic Building of the UB hosts the lecture pronounced by Dr Guy Haug, international expert on higher education. The process of implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the adaptation of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and the strengths and weaknesses of this system will be described.

The lecture, organised by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Policy, Students and Quality, is part of the process set up by the University of Barcelona to restructure its studies within the general university reform that is being developed in Catalonia and Spain.

Guy Haug, considered one of the fathers of the creation process of the EHEA, is an independent advisor to governments, international organisations, quality assurance agencies and higher education networks like the European University Association (EUA). At the European Commission, he created an agenda for university modernisation as part of the EUʼs Lisbon Strategy for the knowledge era. He has written some reports for the OECD about higher education systems all over the world.
