Pre-enrolment period for the University of Experienceʼs next academic year is now open
From June 27 to July 1, people aged over 55 who want to enrol in any of the 12 education programs offered by the University of Experience for next academic year- will be able to register both online and in person. On-site registration can be done in the several headquarters of the Area of Further Training of the UB during the dates listed in the website www.ub.edu/experiencia. For each course there are fifty vacancies; if there are more than fifty pre-enrolments, assignation will be done by draw.

University of Experience grows
The responsible of the University of Experience, Susanna Vendrell, values positively this ending course -with record in number of registered students (more than 1.100) -and highlights that the level of loyalty from the students is around 56%. This means that more than half the students enrol for a new course when they finish so they continue in the University of Experience. “As seen in the results of the surveys given to the students, their satisfaction degree is quite high, both in received information prior to registration, and the developed content in the program and teaching task by the lecturers, as well as the conditions and quality of the facilities” says Vendrell.
The offer of studies for the 2016-2017 edition of the University of Experience has a new course program this year: Fine Arts, which is added to the already offered studies, widening and diversifying the offer. The programs give a high quality education in several knowledge fields and they follow a mixed education model sharing rooms with bachelor students in some courses. They are aimed at people over 55, who are not required to have any previous education; duration is of one or more academic years, and the training is given by UB lecturers.
The University of Experience is funded by Fundació Agrupació, and is supported by the Barcelona City Council, that, through a course with the annually updated agreement, collaborates economically on the education program dissemination and hosts in its website, a portal with all UdE information.

Diet and Gastronomy
A course offering an integrated and transverse vision of the nutrition and gastronomy world with multidisciplinary content of the different fields of the nutrition sciences.
Astronomy and Meteorology
A course mainly aiming to introduce the Universe in which we live and transfer general but rigorous knowledge on meteorology to the students.
Fine Arts
This course offers an introducing program to the main artistic disciplines -drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and filming- to give the fundaments to start practising on contemporary art.
Libraries and Archives in the Digital Era
There is an introduction to the history of the book regarding the knowledge and use of archives and libraries, Internet and social networks.
Biology: the man and biodiversity
This course aims to give a vision of the evolutionary facts that have determined the current biodiversity.
Health Sciences
A program that offers a multidisciplinary perspective on this issue taking it from a basic training on prevention and healthy habits promotion.
Education and Transformation
These studies aim to bring thought to understand educationʼs role as a transformation element for people and society.
Philosophy
A course aiming to understand the most relevant topics of our culture and think about them through philosophy and the most distinguished philosophers.
History of Art
It introduces the basic fundaments of the history of art that allow students to read and contextualize a work of art.
History, Society and Territory
This course gives knowledge to understand the transformation of human societies through history, archaeology and geography.
Languages and Literatures
A course offering basic education on communication and language as well as classic, European, Spanish and Catalan literatures.
Psychology
This course introduces basic knowledge on individual and social psychology and allows discovering the main pathologies and disorders, as well as their diagnoses and treatments.
Closing ceremony of the 2015-2016 academic year
On Monday June 27, at 12 h, the Paranimph of the Historical Building of the UB will hold the closing ceremony of the 2015-2016 academic year of the University of Experience. During this event the students will be given the certificates for the 2015-2016 studies.
