The School of Modern Languages (EIM) is in its final stages of the registration for the language courses to be taught during the academic year 2016-2017. This year the offer reaches almost 8.000 student entries distributed into German, English, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Persian (Farsi), Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Chinese. The courses will start on Monday October 3, and the enrolment and registration for level tests will be open for some more days. In order to make things easier for the enrolment, EIM offers for the first time- the possibility of taking level tests online (only for English tests), so the level and registration for the course can be known instantly.

Another piece of news for this year is that EIM will be —for the first time— an official assessing center for the Cambridge English ESOL examinations, the certificates given by this institution which assess the knowledge of English for non-native people. This distinction has been given to EIM after years of being a preparation center for the exams, and it gives recognition to the teaching career of EIM staff. Since September 27, EIM opened the registration for Cambridge certifications: Cambridge English First (FCE), Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) for next December.

Open to everyone and with face-to-face or online learning, this year there are also courses for pre-university students and specific courses for people over fifty. The courses take place in the main campuses of the University of Barcelona and the headquarters the Complementary Training Area has in Barcelona, Badalona and Sant Joan Despí. In these two barriers there is the commitment to offer reduced charges of the courses for the people living in Badalona and Sant Joan Despí.

All the information on the courses and registration forms is available on EIM website and headquarters.
