The rector of the University of Barcelona, Joan Elias, has positively commented on the results of the institution: “Although these results donʼt show a significant variation regarding the previous edition, it is worth mentioning that the University of Barcelona has consolidated its leading position over time, during hard years when it suffered from considerable cuts on research resources by the state government, partially offset by a better success rate on European programs”. Elias added that “these results are understood as the result of the effort and excitement of our staff and the eagerness accumulated over the previous years, from the continuous adoption of good practices in lots of fields and growth on openness, competitiveness and internationalization”.
