On June 16, the Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto visited the exhibition Baschet Sound Sculptures, located in the Humanities and Social Sciences Park in Can Jaumandreu, of the University of Barcelona. Sakamoto, admirer of the work by the Baschet brothers, was in Barcelona for his performance in Sonar2018 with AlvaNoto in Teatre Grec.

He came with the vice-rector for Outreach and Internationalization, Àlex Aguilar; the coordinator of the UB Workshop on Sounding Sculptures, Martí Ruiz i Carulla, and the collaborator of the Humanities Park and Editions and Publications of the UB, Mònica Sabata. During his visit, the vice-rector Aguilar, head of Editions and Publications of the UB, gave Sakamoto two representative works: The Sound Sculptures of Bernard and François Baschet, by François BAschet (2017), and  <El jardí de lʼEdifici Històric de la Universitat de Barcelona, by Joan Vallès and Montserrat Camps (2017).

Sakamoto, who experimented the sound and potentialities of the sounding sculptures, knew about some of the pieces by the Baschet brothers because he had visited the Expo ʼ70 in Osaka. He saw two of these works once again in the Kyoto University of Art and Design, which were restored by Martí Ruiz in 2015. In fact, Sakamoto included some sounds in his last solo album Async and contributed to the crowdfunding organized by the Kyoto University, for the restoration of an original Baschet piece, led by Ruiz.
