Màrius Serra i Roig (Barcelona, 1963) holds a degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Barcelona.
At the end of the 1980s, Serra began to write works of fiction and articles on riddles, crosswords and wordplay of different kinds. A contributor to the daily newspapers Avui and La Vanguardia, his novels include L’home del sac ('The Bogeyman'), Mon oncle ('My Uncle'), La vida normal ('Ordinary Life'), which won Barcelona's Premi Ciutat award for the year 1998, and Ablanatanalba. His work Verbàlia (2000) was honoured with the two prizes the Serra d’Or and the Lletra d’Or de la Crítica. In 2006 Serra also received the 26th Ramon Llull Prize for Catalan writing with his book Farsa (Farce).
