The SONART project meets the schools – Italy

On June 29th 2016, the SONART project team organized a workshop on archaeoacoustics and schematic rock art in the Laboratorio di Scienze della Terra in Spoleto (Italy). The activity was designed by Tommaso Mattioli with the collaboration of the Laboratorio staff. The children were guided through the development of Prehistoric rock art and they experienced the importance of acoustics in the production and active use of post-paleolithic rock art.


The SONART project meets the schools – France

On June 14th 2016, the SONART project team organized a workshop on archaeoacoustics and schematic rock art in the Marie Curie Primary school in Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans (France). The activity was designed by Tommaso Mattioli with the collaboration of Amilcar Vargas (GAPP – Universitat de Barcelona) along with Imogen Simpson-Mowday. After a short introduction about prehistoric art, the more than forty children experienced the importance of acoustics in the production and active use of post-paleolithic rock art and the techniques used to decorate rock shelters.
