I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Bucharest, followed by a Master’s in Neurobiology and Health Psychology. Over the years, I have developed an interdisciplinary background that combines psychological and biological insights. Most recently, I completed a Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience at Maastricht University, driven by my desire to learn new techniques and collaborate closely with specialists in the field. During my internship, I looked into the emotional processing in relation to tactile fear conditioning paradigms within an fMRI framework.
My thesis focused on investigating the neural correlates and functional dynamics of cued and context-driven fear of touch in a healthy sample. Currently, I am beginning my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Judith Domínguez-Borràs, where I will explore the processing of affective stimuli in greater depth, examining the neural pathways and correlates associated with auditory emotion processing. For this purpose, I will use various techniques, including fMRI, DWI and EEG. I am motivated by the advances in neuroscientific research and aspire to contribute to a better understanding of neural processes in both healthy and impaired brains.
