I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and postgraduate studies in Adult Neuropsychology and Neuropsychiatry (Pontificia Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile), Neuroscience in Education (Universidad Mayor), and Neurobiology of Child Development (Universidad del Desarrollo).
In early 2024, I joined Brainlab as a scholarship holder from ANID (National Agency for Research and Development). I am currently a doctoral student in the NORAMP project, under the supervision of Dr. Iria San Miguel and Dr. Marc Via. My research interests focus on the interaction between neurobiological mechanisms and perceptual processes in auditory perception.
My doctoral thesis develops along two complementary lines. First, we investigate the role of the locus coeruleus–norepinephrine (LC-NE) system in auditory perception. We hypothesize that motor signals help synchronize LC-NE activation, thereby facilitating more efficient and adaptive auditory processing. Second, we study the effects of self-generated sounds on the auditory pathway in individuals with schizophrenia and healthy controls. This aims to understand how internal mechanisms influence sound processing and how these processes may be altered in clinical populations.
