Single Molecule Platform Developement

Hot carriers refer to those electrons and holes that have significantly increased their kinetic energy. In the context of a molecular junction, these carriers carry energy higher than the thermal equilibrium level of the molecule they momentarily inhabit during transmission. The employment of this excess energy can lead to enhanced charge transport through molecular junctions.

Our research focuses on the charge transport at the molecular scale under the influence of force fields. Nowadays, we place a special emphasis on developing platforms that facilitate the integration of plasmonics and plexcitonics into molecular charge transport phenomena. Our main goal is to explore novel molecular mechanisms and capabilities exploiting hot carrier-based transport and non-classical states of light.
