The Contemporary History and Contemporary World Section, precisely because of its specificity focused on contemporaneity, has a wide range of lines of research, developed both by research groups and by the various people involved (students, professors, etc.).
The basic lines of research focus mainly on the recent history of Catalonia and Spain, multiculturalism, nationalities, the current reality of certain specific areas of the planet, the importance of gender in the action of agents of change, institutions, embodiment of the history of our days in the arts, and the history of culture and intellectuals.
The research is carried out on the basis of the research work of each professor, linked to a research group, and at the same time they encourage research to be carried out on the basis of master’s theses and, above all, doctoral theses.
