In the last years of the dictatorship, there is an escalation of social and labor conflict that will definitely be exploited in 1976. These struggles, which often escape the control of political parties and unions under construction (or reconstruction), are called by their own protagonists as autonomous struggles.

The purpose of this work is to track the first steps of this tendency, specifically in the city of Barcelona, looking for within the slow reconstruction of the labor movement in the sixties the groups of workers who with greater or lesser success They try to articulate a revolutionary organization, of class, outside the influence of parties and unions.

The final objective of this research, which escapes the characteristics of this work, would be to monitor the autonomous tendencies throughout the process of democratic transition, to try to show what degree they could influence the so-called “Democratic pact” between opponents and opponents of the regime.

During the 1969 struggle between the FOC and the PSUC for the control of the commission coordinators, they led a group of independent militants, some from the FOC, to self-criticize the organizational forms of Commissions, grouped for this about the bulletin What to do? The initiative will be welcomed in general, even the PSUC, a party against which the most outspoken critics will address, will greet the initiative. In this bulletin the political parties were accused of wanting to use the emerging organization of workers as the “transmission strap” of their political programs, and as the nucleus of extraction of new militants.

Little by little a tendency will emerge, which will have as an initial concern to fight against this control of the Commissions on the part of the political parties, beginning a reflection on the autonomy of the working class and equipping itself with the organizational means to try specify it. The object of this work is an approximation to the organization resulting from this reflection: The Circles of Painting Training and the group that will try to bring it into practice in a more coherent way, the Self-Employed Working Groups.
