Genetic mutations leading to truncated proteins in Schaaf-Yang syndrome

A team from the UB, the IBUB, the IRSD and the CIBERER has discovered how mutations in the MAGEL2 gene — the cause of the syndrome — give rise to truncated and non-functional proteins that accumulate in the cell nucleus and, thus, could aggravate the symptoms of those affected by the pathology.
