Aaron Ventura is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and English Studies at the University of Barcelona (UB), where he has taught since 2010. His academic work at UB spans core areas of English linguistics, including Descriptive Grammar, English Phonetics and Phonology, and English Language Studies. He has also participated in teaching innovation through UB-funded projects focused on corpus-informed pedagogy and the development of digital tools such as the Clause Pattern Database.  

He holds a PhD in English Philology (Applied Linguistics) from the University of Barcelona, with a dissertation on voice patterns in scientific English. His research interests include corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, English for Specific and Academic Purposes, contrastive linguistics, phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition, and digital learning innovation. He has contributed to consolidated research groups such as GRIAL and GReLIC and has presented some of his work at international conferences.  

In addition to his work at UB, he teaches undergraduate courses at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), and both undergraduate and master’s-level courses at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He also has extensive experience in secondary and baccalaureate education. His career reflects a strong commitment to research-informed teaching and the advancement of English language studies.
