Hi! My name is Davide Botticchio. I am a FPI fellow of the project ‘Paradoxes as Philosophical Tools’ (PID2023-150066NB-I00) under the supervision of Sergi Oms Sardans and José Martinez Fernandez from March 2024. Broadly speaking, my main interests lie in philosophical logic, metaphysics and paradoxes. My research focuses on developing formal solutions to philosophical paradoxes. More specifically, my recent work has focused on developing non-bivalent logics based on substructural logics to address the validity paradox. Moreover, I am working on metainferential logics, especially those built on substructural logics, independently of their application to paradoxes.

Before joining LOGOS, I studied economics. I received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Social Sciences (2019) at Bocconi University and a Master of Science in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at the London School of Economics (2020). Then, I got interested in logic and philosophy and studied some electives at the Master of Science in Logics and Philosophy of Science at University of Florence (2021) and received a Research Master in Philosophy at Utrecht University (2024). My Master thesis was about type free solutions to paradoxes of metaphysical grounding in a predicational setting.

Between 2020 and 2022, I had two work experiences as an economist for an Italian political party and for the Italian Minister for Innovation and I was a maths teacher in high school for a few months.

Besides logic and philosophy, I am also interested in politics and economics and I love hiking and cycling!
