The works presented in the exhibition “Irradiations, Double Slits, and Crystalline Cells” act as an interference pattern.
Four concepts—body, space, matter, and text—serve as a starting point for the artists to weave together a series of questions, challenges, and calls to action regarding the latent conflicts in our contemporary reality.
The twenty-five projects in “Irradiations” intersect and propel one another, creating a network of complicities and productive clashes. Like in a light experiment, where the maximum scintillations are sought, in this exhibition we use the idea of irradiation to launch lines of flight that challenge us. We explore the constructs of representation, memory, and the archive. We propose the subversion of dissident bodies and realities mediated by technology and narratives. We also question the transformation of matter and its reflections, and we interrogate space and language about their capacity to reverse the political fissures inherent in them.
