The Hub in Digital Humanities (HD) arises from the need to establish a stable transversal structure that articulates the initiatives already existing in this field within the University of Barcelona. More than 200 researchers linked to more than 40 research groups from different faculties and campuses are currently participating in projects and activities related to digital humanities. This alliance aims to:
• Strengthen interfaculty and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Improve the projection and visibility of research in HHDD.
• Optimize access to digital infrastructures, resources and services.
• Facilitate access and efficient management of competitive funding. The creation of the HD Hub responds to a demand expressed at the 1st UB Digital Humanities Conference (March 2025) and includes the previous work carried out by the Digital Humanities Commission of the Department of History and Archaeology. The consolidation of this proposal stems from the experience accumulated in the promotion of research and training activities in HHDD inside and outside the UB, with a clear vocation for institutional leadership and international projection.
