The Erasmus Mundus in Global Markets, Local Creativities is an international programme that aims to examine how local actors (clusters, cities, regions, entrepreneurs, businesses and policy makers) generate competitiveness under global market conditions. The University of Barcelona is one of the institutions hosting this master, under the coordination of the University of Glasgow and with the participation of the University of Göttingen, the University of Uppsala, the University of Kyoto, the University of Rotterdam, and the University of Los Andes.

In its first edition (the second is currently underway), the programme received the final evaluation report from the European Union with a final score of 90/100, particularly for these achievements:

  • The construction of an interinstitutional study plan that enhances the integrative aspects and promotes staff and student mobility.
  • Continuous adaptation of the curriculum to ensure excellence, innovation, and competitiveness, facilitating links between theory and practice, and introducing more research training elements following feedback from students and alumni.
  • Promoting the internationalization of departments and faculties, securing institutional support, and administrative and professional effectiveness through specific resources and collaborative practices among all partners of the Consortium.
