On Monday, 24 November, the Board Room of the Faculty of Psychology hosted the roundtable “The Power of Writing for Girls with EDs: Experiences from a Workshop on Screenwriting and Self-Knowledge”, an event that brought together attendees interested in mental health, creativity, and the support of young people with eating disorders.

The session featured writer and screenwriter Anna Llauradó, who shared the experience of the writing course using screenwriting techniques that she taught to a group of girls with eating disorders at the SETCA Centre in Barcelona, giving voice to their experiences through the work carried out together.

The event also included contributions from Esther Sanz, editor of the book Sombras sutiles de bambú (Urano Publishing), which gathers this experience, and Albert Quintela, the producer working on its film adaptation.

In addition, the roundtable included the participation of Ainara Insausti, one of the girls involved in the project, and Reyes Raspall, co-director of the SETCA Centre, who offered their perspectives on the process and its impact.

The session created a shared space for reflection on the possibilities of writing as a tool for expression and self-understanding, sparking strong interest among those attending.
