Six researchers from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Barcelona among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists
A total of 157 researchers from the University of Barcelona are ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists, according to the latest update of the Stanford ranking, compiled by the Elsevier publishing group using data from the Scopus database. Of these, six belong to the Faculty of Psychology — a recognition that highlights their outstanding contribution to advancing knowledge in areas such as neuroscience, clinical psychology, victimology, and psychogerontology.
The UB, Spain’s leading university in number of top researchers
Among the 230,333 scientists included in the database, 3,816 are affiliated with institutions in Spain, more than half of which are public universities. The University of Barcelona leads the list, followed by the Complutense University of Madrid, the University of Granada, and the University of Valencia. In Catalonia, the UB accounts for 34% of the researchers from Catalan universities included in the ranking.
Regarding the list of scientists with the greatest impact over the past year, 174 UB researchers appear among the most cited, confirming the institution’s position as the national leader in high-impact research.
