On Friday 14th December, it took place the second session of the Christmas Concert offered by the UB within the 26th Music Series at the University, organised by the Office of the vice-rector for Arts, Culture and Heritage.

The concert commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Orchestra of the University of Barcelona (OUB). The piece performed was Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff, a 20th century cantata based on a collection of goliard texts from 12th and 13th century. The collection was found in 1803 in the Benedictine monastery of Benediktbeuern, Benediktbeuern Abbey, in Bavaria. It is a complex musical piece with a great many orchestra components and the participation of a mixed choir, a children's choir and three soloists. That is why, on this occasion, the OUB was accompanied by the Choir of the University of Barcelona, the Schola Cantorum Universitaria Barcinonensis, the Cor Vivace, the Cor Cantabile, the Cor Coreli, the children’s choir Picarols and the soloists Marta Arbonès (soprano), Víctor Jiménez (counter-tenor) and Lluís Sintes (baritone) also participate in the event.
