Professor Antón Costas was appointed president of the Circle of Economy
The professor of Applied Economics at UB Antón Costas is the new president of the Circle of Economy. Costas is industrial technical engineer; he holds a degree in Economic and Business Sciences and a PhD in Economics. Currently, he is professor at the Department of Economic Policy and World Economic Structure of UB and member of the board of directors of the Institute of Research on Applied Regional and Public Economics of the University.

Costas has published many papers in economic journals, as well as books on questions related to public policies, economics reforms and socio-economic problems. He founded the masterʼs degree in Economics, Regulation and Competition in Public Services and he is member of its teaching staff. His activity is not only academic; he has chaired and been member of some expert committees constituted to counsel governments and public administrations on economic problems and suitable public policies in areas such as public services, housing or unemployment. He also collaborates with the media.
