“Millora i acredita el teu nivell. Apren idiomes a la Universitat” (Learn languages at the University) is the motto for this yearʼs campaign, which wants to say that anyone who wishes so, can learn and improve languages. Registration and level tests for the annual and autumn courses are open until October 5, date of the start of the courses, with an offer of more than 6,000 available registrations among the courses of German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Persian, Russian, Swedish and Chinese.

Courses for everyone

Aimed at everyone (no need to be a UB student to register) with face-to-face, blended and online learning, this yearʼs offering includes senior courses for people aged over fifty-five.

Payment can be split and there are several payment options depending on each course. Also, there are reduced and special fees for members of the UB community (students, PAS and PDI), students from UB-affiliated centers, UB Alumni members and students from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, thanks to an agreement between universities. Moreover, the UB, through the bkUB grant system, and Generalitat de Catalunya, through PARLA3 program, provide the students with university financial aids aimed to defray the costs of the English, German, Italian and French courses to get level B2.

Language certificates

EIM offers the chance to take the online level test for English as well as a customized and face-to-face guidance with the schoolʼs teaching staff for students of German, English and French. Regarding English, EIM offers 40-hour exam preparation courses for Cambridge English (First, Advanced and Proficiency) certificates, and also gives students the chance to take these official exams in the same center.

Moreover, it holds other certificate exams over the year. Among these are the Language Certificate of Catalan Universities (CLUC) -an official certificate by the twelve Catalan universities and recognized by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) -, accreditations for mobility grants or TORFL Russian certificate, and this year, it will program examinations for the prestigious Goethe-Zertifikat German certificate.

The School of Modern Languages offers the chance to learn up to eighteen languages in the main UB campuses, located around the city of Barcelona, and in the headquarters in Badalona (El Carme Cultural Center) and Sant Joan Despí (Torre de la Creu).
