This yearʼs graduation ceremonies for the studies in the Faculty of Economics and Business bring a new thing: the lecturers with highest scores by students will receive an award. This initiative, launched by the Deanʼs Office, aims to “contribute to the promotion of the improvement of teaching quality of the center and to honor the teaching staff tasks”.

The Faculty will award those lecturers with the highest score given by students in their surveys the UB conducts each year. In all cases, the awarded lecturers got an average score of 9 in four categories of the opinion survey: general satisfaction with the lecturer, communication atmosphere with students, clear transmission of the content and proper practice of tasks as a lecturer (syllabus, attendance, etc.). These surveys have to be answered by more than the 35 % of the registered students. The first graduation ceremonies will be those of International Business and the groups from the program Empresa-Universitat-Societat (Business-University-Society, EUS), which will take place on Thursday, October 25. In this case, the top valued lecturers are M. Teresa Mármol, Marta Panadés and Patricia García-Durán. Then, the graduation for ADE studies will follow, on November 7, awarding lecturers Pilar Aparicio and Joan Bellavista, and on November 8 will do so the degrees of Economics, Sociology and Statistics, awarding M. Àngels Pons, Esther Vayà, Sandra Escapa, David Casassas and Manuela Alcañiz. All graduation ceremonies will also honor the students with top academic records, with an average mark over 8.
