Today, October 16, the rector Joan Elias signed a resolution which explains the measures to be taken at the UB in order to contain the COVID-19 outbreak while the SLT/2546/2020 resolution by the Catalan Government, from October 15, is valid.

The document explains the change from face-to-face theory lectures to a virtual format. Virtual teaching can be offered in the center or outside this as long as the service is guaranteed. The research and management activities have to be carried online as long as possible.

At the same time, it establishes the preference of telework for the administrative and services staff and services in those places where telework is an option. As a general criterium, it establishes telework for 80% of the day (it can be increased, exceptionally, up to a 100%).

In order to guarantee the benefit of higher education public service, it establishes minimum services of mandatory face-to-face provision in different areas and units. However, face-to-face events such as conferences and fairs, as well as activity in bars and restaurants inside the buildings of the University of Barcelona, are cancelled -except for collection services with appointment.
