Information about these two upcoming shows:
February 18. Maria Hein (invitations available on February 3). The young woman from Felanitx debuts with Continent i contingut (Hidden Track Records): ten songs gathering thoughts, problems, doubts and certainties, like a mug that is overfilled and lets the water flow.
February 25. Nil Ciuró (invitations available on February 10). Pianist, composer and producer that merges minimalism, contemporary music and experimentation. He celebrates the publication of the soulful Oversoul, edited by the Swedish label 1631 Recordings.
Once again, culture and music meet at the heart of the UB: the concerts in this cycle, projects with a huge personality and with great artistic value, will take place at the Paranimph of the Historical Building, one of the most spectacular rooms in the city. We will enjoy the scenic freshness of Flamenco Queer, the folk of the Irish Anna Mieke, songs by the Majorcan Maria Hein and Nil Ciuróʼs piano. These projects go over the folkloric roots and update it with an intersectional feminist perspective.
The successful participation of previous editions makes it clear the cycle became an unmissable date in the city.
The program is brought by the cooperative LʼAfluent, which is also in charge of the artistic direction of Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) in Festes de la Mercè. It keeps it risky, open and cross-sectional spirit of the cycle, and it broadens its view with the addition of a content curator team.
