The UB offers six of the seven most in demand degrees in Catalonia
Out of the seven most in demand degrees in Catalonia, six are from the University of Barcelona. The first ones are Medicine (Clinic Campus) with 1,915 first-choice applications, followed by Psychology, with 1,345 applications, and Business Administration and Management, with 1,079 applications, followed by nursing (Bellvitge Campus) as the fifth most popular first-choice degree in Catalonia, with 891 applications, Dentistry (814) and Law (740).

On the other hand, four of the seven highest grades are from the UB: Mathematics and Physics, with 13.453 points, followed by Medicine (Clinic Campus), with 13.240 points, the dual study pathway in Computer Engineering and Mathematics (13.118) and Medicine (Bellvitge Campus) with 13.086 points.
Regarding the academic year 2022-2023, the UB is once again the Catalan university with the highest number of first-choice applications. Specifically, 18,802 students have chosen the UB as their first-choice university, a figure that represents an increase of 5.59% over the previous year. The UB offers 25.76% of places in the university system as a whole, while it receives 32.75% of first-choice applications.
