The University of Barcelona Doctoral School (EDUB), formally created in March 2012, will be responsible for organizing the academic training and professional preparation of doctoral students within the framework of the UB's general science and research policy. It will give young researchers the chance to purse their goals in a multidisciplinary environment framed within a coherent scientific project and structured across a variety of doctoral programs.
The range of programs overseen by the EDUB encompasses doctoral studies and related activities in all of the knowledge areas offered at the UB, ensuring the greatest possible degree of cross-disciplinarity and contributing to the coherent development and international recognition of doctoral training options.
As a member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU), the UB is one of only a handful of institutions with the size, critical mass and scientific expertise to establish its own, independent research policy and maintain such a strong commitment to researcher training, with the overarching goal of promoting international research.
