Esther Izquierdo Llavall
Postdoctoral researcher at the Universitat de Barcelona
Esther Izquierdo graduated with honors in Geology from the Universidad de Zaragoza in 2009. Afterwards, she studied a master in the University of Geology in Granada, where she undertook her master thesis, focused on the study of magnetic fabrics in igneous rocks from the Pyrenees. In 2010, she started her PhD entitled “Along-strike variations in the structure of the Pyrenean Axial Zone: Insights from magnetic fabrics, paleomagnetism, paleothermometry and analogue modelling”. Since 2014, Esther has been postdoctoral researcher in the Instituto Geológico y Minero de España, where she worked on cross section construction for a CO2 storage project (2014-2015), and in the Geomodels Research Institute (from February 2015). Her latter work is focused on seismic interpretation and analogue modelling applied to the Kuqa basin, in NW China.
My research lines are mainly focused:
✓Structural geology and tectonics
✓Magnetic fabrics and paleomagnetism
✓Analogue modelling
