The 11th conference >> 10th+1: aims & objectives
The 2018 event is rather special. The Taipei 2016 conference was the 10th edition and a commemoration of the ten celebrations to date. Returning to Barcelona in 2018 marks the end of one stage and the beginning of a new one for the Committee. The numbering chosen—“10+1”—also means that Barcelona 2018 is both an end and a beginning in the ICDHS’s own history.
Consequently, several research lines proposed for strands refer to the legacy of these conferences, reminding new audiences of previous editions and areas of research already worked on. It is therefore a question of taking stock and exploring the real legacy of the conferences. This review represents a promise for the future and considers the conferences’ continuity in the near future, looking ahead to themes and issues for upcoming editions.
Conference’s Official Language
The official language of the Conference is English. However, in this edition it is possible that some activities will be played in other languages. Session convenors and anticipated participants always have the final say.
It is permitted to submit abstracts and papers written in local languages that are usual in scientific exchange. Once a paper has been accepted, authors must send an English translation for inclusion in the published book of the conference proceedings.
However, the title of the paper, together with information about author’s affiliation and a brief abstract of 200 words must appear in English from the outset.
La undécima edición >> 10+1: finalidad y objetivos
El evento de 2018 es un poco especial. El congreso de Taipéi 2016 fue la 10ª edición, lo que se conmemoró como un décimo aniversario. Volver a Barcelona en 2018 simboliza y marca el final de una etapa y el comienzo de una nueva. Este es el sentido de la numeración elegida, «10+1», queriendo así significar que Barcelona 2018 es tanto un final como un comienzo de etapa.
En coherencia, varias de las líneas de trabajo propuestas ahora remiten al legado de estos congresos, a ediciones anteriores y a ámbitos de investigación ya atendidos. Se trata de hacer balance e indagar cuál ha sido el legado real de estos congresos.
La revisión supone una promesa de futuro y se plantea también la continuidad de estos congresos en el futuro inmediato pensando ya en los temas para próximas sedes.
Idioma oficial del congreso
La lengua oficial del evento es el inglés pero en esta edición se prevé que haya alguna actividad hablada en otras lenguas según el público asistente. La decisión la tomará siempre el público del aula de acuerdo con el ponente y los moderadores de la sesión.
Se permite pues enviar resúmenes y ponencias redactadas en distintas lenguas de intercambio científico según elección de cada quien. Una vez aceptada la ponencia, se deberá mandar la versión inglesa del texto completo para ser publicado en el libro de actas.
Los títulos de la ponencia, los datos relativos a los autores y un breve resumen de 200 palabras deberán figurar en inglés desde el primer envío.
