Literatura, ètica i globalització
Descripció general de l'assignatura
En aquesta assignatura estudiem el teatre produït a Gran Bretanya des de la darrera dècada del segle XX fins l’actualitat. Mitjançant l’exploració detinguda d’una selecció d’obres teatrals, es convida l’alumnat a considerar tant les innovacions formals/estètiques com les intervencions culturals i polítiques que s’hi formulen i a llegir-les a la llum dels esdeveniments que s’han produït a la Gran Bretanya, a Europa i en el marc del procés de globalització neoliberal en curs.
Es dedica la major atenció possible al component teatral o de posada en escena, ja sigui per mitjà de projeccions de (fragments de) versions filmades de les obres, fotografies de muntatges concrets, lectura de ressenyes o visites al teatre per veure obres tant de les dramaturgues, dramaturgs i dramaturguis seleccionades com d’altres autors/es/is contemporanis.

Quina és la línia de pensament
Examinarem les obres seleccionades a la llum d’un ventall de perspectives teòriques/crítiques que inclouen el gir ètic i l’ètica de la cura, els estudis de globalització, la precari(e)tat, la teoria dels afectes, les teories queer, els estudis crítics antiracistes i la funció de l’espectador/a/i. L’objectiu global és mirar de determinar i descriure fins a quin punt i de quina manera aquestes obres ens conviden, com a públic receptor, a transformar la nostra percepció i experiència del món que ens envolta.
