About the group

Origins and evolution

The Group of Magnetism grew from the research activity led at the University of Barcelona by Javier Tejada in quantum magnetism, magnetic relaxation, low-temperature physics, superconductivity and microwave phenomena.

Its current activity places surface acoustic waves, spin and orbital angular momentum, two-dimensional materials, hybrid quantum systems, microwave absorbers and domain-wall criticality at the centre of its research.

The group brings together researchers from Condensed Matter Physics, Applied Physics and Materials Science and Physical Chemistry.
