Alba Arboix, Ph.D.

Architect (ETSAB‑UPC, 2011) and PhD in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2016), with a doctoral thesis on urban space and parish architecture in Barcelona, published in 2018 by the Barcelona City Council. She is currently a Serra Húnter lecturer in the Department of Visual Arts and Design at the University of Barcelona, where she coordinates undergraduate final projects and teaches in both bachelor’s and master’s programmes. She is an active member of the Design Research Group (UB) and a former collaborator of the Habitar research group (UPC), having participated in several competitive projects, including the Atlas of Architectural Reuse: Critical Study of Reused Buildings in Barcelona. Her expertise focuses on architectural and urban form, with particular attention to Catalan and Barcelona architectural heritage, religious architecture, and public space design. Her work and research have been published in various internationally recognised specialised journals. As a collaborating architect at the FAARQ studio, her professional practice has been oriented mainly toward housing and the rehabilitation of Catalan farmhouses and other heritage buildings.
