Sheila González Mardones is a designer, holds a PhD in Design Research from the University of Barcelona, and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the same university, where she teaches in both undergraduate and master’s programmes. She also coordinates the interuniversity master’s degree Advanced Studies in Design, jointly offered by the University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She holds degrees in Fine Arts (specialising in design) and Audiovisual Communication, and a master’s degree in Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges. She has developed her professional activity in the fields of visual communication and graphic and audiovisual design. Her work focuses primarily on teaching and research, and she is a member of the consolidated research group Design Research Group. Her main research areas include disciplinary and professional definition and graphic design.
