microscòpia no lineal 2-fotons?

D’acord amb la informació que hi ha a l’entrada microscopy de la Viquipèdia, la microscòpia de dos fotons és un tipus de microscòpia no lineal:

«Wide-field multiphoton microscopy refers to an optical non-linear imaging technique in which a large area of the object is illuminated and imaged without the need for scanning. High intensities are required to induce non-linear optical processes such as two-photon fluorescence or second harmonic generation.»

L’enllaç two-photon fluorescence porta a l’entrada two-photon excitation microscopy (TPEF o 2PEF), on s’explica:

«Unlike traditional fluorescence microscopy, in which the excitation wavelength is shorter than the emission wavelength, two-photon excitation requires simultaneous excitation by two photons with longer wavelength than the emitted light.»

Les entrades en francès i castellà associades a aquesta entrada són, respectivament, microscopie par excitation à deux photons i microscopía de excitación de dos fotones.

També es documenta la denominació anglesa two‐photon excited fluorescence microscopy i altres variants.

Així, doncs, l’expressió microscòpia no lineal 2-fotons és una altra manera de referir-se a aquest tipus de microscòpia, però és preferible la construcció microscòpia no lineal de dos fotons.
