Nicola Rubino successfully defended his doctoral thesis

    On September 10th, 2020, Nicola Rubino defended his doctoral thesis titled "Three essays on commodity prices” supervised by Dr. Josep Lluis Carrion-i-Silvestre.

    The doctoral committee was composed of Dr. Julien Chevalier (Université Paris VIII), Dr. Helena Chulià Soler (Universitat de Barcelona) and Dr. Alexander Mihailov (University of Reading) who decided to grade the PhD thesis with an “Excellent” mark with the mention of Cum Laude. 

    This doctoral thesis studies the long run nexus and the short run comovements between Exchange rates and commodity prices, focusing on forecastability and nonlinear analyses to explore the validity of equilibrium theories such as the Purchasing Power Parity and the Heckscher Commodity Points theory.
