AQR contributes to the debate on inequality of income and wages in the EU in a study published by the EP

    The AQR Research Group, together with the Deutsches Institute für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW), has advised the European Parliament with a study entitled "Wage Dispersion in the EU"

    On November 4, 2014 the members of the research team, formed by Enrique López-Bazo, Christian Dreger, Raul Ramos, Vicente Royuela and Jordi Suriñach, presented the final work to the European Parliament.

    The aim of the study was to analyze wage inequality in the EU, as well as the role of structural policies, particularly those that refer to labor market regulation, recent changes in income inequality in member states of the EU.

    Specifically, this study has provided a detailed analysis of the effect on wages and inequality in labor income inequality of collective bargaining system, the existence and relative magnitude of a minimum wage, and the coexistence of work posts of different quality.

    This is the second project that AQR Group conducted for the European Parliament in the last two years. The first one was carried out in 2013 and entitled «The European Dimension in the National Reforms Programmes and the Stability Oro Convergence Programmes».
