"Myth, History and Memory"

JULY 28th - 31st 2008

The title for this conference was suggested to Sue Ballyn by Prof. Vin d´Cruz and we are most greatful to him for such a gift.

There will be no call for papers as we only intend to have some 50 speakers over the four days in single sessions with enough time after each to generate lively and fruitful discussion. As a result we are asking specialists in various areas to participate.

If however you feel that you would like to offer a paper then please contact the convenor, Sue Ballyn, on susand@ub.edu as soon as possible.

The title opens itself to any field and any approach. We are interested in fomenting interdisciplinary conversations and looking for papers that will cover everything from environmental studies to creative writing. Previous conferences hace covered exile, Convict Studies, Oral History, Geology, Theology, Environmental Studies, Art, Creative Writing, Spanish Civil War Studies, Indigenous Studies, Whiteness Studies, Queer Studies, Migration, Refugee Studies and the list can and hopefully will be extended.

Below is a link to the discussion forum for the conference. Feel free to participate before, during and after the conference.
