Marian Martínez García

Marian Martínez García (Barcelona, 1978) Is graduated in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Barcelona and specialized in Psychology of Crime, she has studied Master’s in Forensic and Criminal Psychology and PhD in personality development and abnormal behavior obtaining Diploma of advanced studies with the research: cognitive distortions and empathy sexual aggressors.
Currently she combines her work as a psychologist in the Office of Rehabilitation and Health Programs with teaching at the degree in Criminology.
She has participated in various research, most of them with grants for research, studies and analysis in the areas of criminal enforcement, criminal mediation, care for the victim, the administration of justice, law Catalan civil law and granted by the Catalan Department of Justice.
Member of the Group of Advanced Studies on Violence since its inception (2004) and the Spanish Society of Criminological Research, having served as a member during the years 2008-2009.
She was awarded with Honors degree in studies of Criminology, and with the SEIC Prize to the Promotion of young researchers. Her current lines of research focus on sexual violence, assessment and prediction of risk, psychological treatment of offenders and forensic clinical psychology.
