Coffee plant genome reveals the evolution of caffeine


Dr. Julio Rozas explains that participated in the study that sequenced the first nuclear genome of the species Coffea canephora coffee and gives new clues about the evolution of caffeine. The results show that the genes responsible Caffeine evolved genes with similar functions independently of tea or cocoa.
