Course: Diversity and Vegetation Ecology High Mountain

Introduction to plant ecology in the mountains, a complex and limiting context, where plants show vital strategies particularly relevant and illustrative; the uniqueness of the flora and vegetation of the Pyrenees involves also a remarkable learning plant diversity of this mountain range.

Activities

- Two theoretical introductory sessions .
- Three days field, each with an introduction to ecosystem study, planning and execution of sampling and analysis of samples and data, at the High Mountain Research Center at the University of Barcelona.
- Preparation, presentation and discussion of results by students.

Description and logistic:
- 3 credits
- Specialist professors.
- Done at the High Mountain Research Center of the the University of Barcelona (Vielha) and its environment (natural areas Aigüestortes, Posets-Maladeta and Val d'Aran).
- Dates of the course: from 27 June to 1 July 2016.
- The registration fee (300 €) includes journey (from Barcelona) and overnight.
- The course is part of the post-graduate training at the University of Barcelona
