Presentation of the IPCC report at the Faculty of Biology_UB

On Monday 28 February at 12.00 noon, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will present the results of Working Group II at an international conference that can be followed openly around the world. This new IPCC report has focused on the analysis of the impact, adaptation and vulnerability of natural ecosystems and socio-economic systems in the face of climate change, as well as on the best strategies to reduce its impact at different scales.

Professor Jofre Carnicer, from the Faculty of Biology, the Institute for Biodiversity Research (IRBio) of UB and the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), is the only expert in Catalonia - and one of the few researchers in Spain - who is a member of the IPCC Working Group II and co-author of some chapters of the new report.

For this reason, the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Biology of the UB will host a press conference on Monday 28 February at 10.30 am, under conditions of information embargo, to address the main conclusions of the new report that the IPCC will disseminate internationally at 12 noon.

After the press conference, at 11.30 am, an institutional event will take place in the Aula Magna to broadcast live the international press conference that the IPCC plans to broadcast in open format.
