Anti-Francoist resistance at the University
of Barcelona around 1969

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the assault on the Rectorate of 1969, an act of opposition to the Franco regime, this exhibition is a reliable documentary testimony of a period characterized by political and social tensions, both inside and outside the University.

Moments of truth: Exams at the University
of Barcelona (1840-1940)

Brief representative selection of archived examinations from the period 1840-1940. These written exams are a token of the a very relevant event in the academic life of a university student: the moment of accountability, the "moment of truth".

Culture militias

With this sample of personal files, the Historical Archive pays homage to the militiamen for their valuable work in literacy and alphabetization during the Civil War, in the 80th anniversary of the decree creating militias.

In the transition from the xix to the xxcentury, women accessed the University for the first time. This brief collection presents women from different disciplines, ideologies and backgrounds that contributed to transforming the University of Barcelona with their passage through it.

Building the Historic Building

Exhibition of the plans and minutes from the board of works' meetings that are kept in the Historical Archive, in some cases accompanied by past or present images of the building, to encourage visitors to locate in situ some of the elements that they show up.

Colonies for evacuated children

This photographic exhibition is hosted in the repository Digital Memory of Catalonia . 173 photos are grouped by population and reflect the daily life of children of all ages: chores and daily activities (eating, studying, playing, singing, etc.) and the facilities (classrooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, gardens and patios, etc.).

Highlighted image

Throughout history, significant figures in the various fields of science, literature, politics and society have come to the University of Barcelona. Some of them have been mentioned on the occasion of a special event. Some of the historical documents shown have a purely aesthetic value.
