Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LOGOS has suspended group activities that require the physical presence of participants.
LOGOS seminars and reading groups continue online. We are working on a case by case basis to re-instate other activities in an online format, including LOGOS colloquia and workshops. Stay safe and keep checking our webpage for news!
Pilar Terrés, LOGOS student, was awarded her PhD on 29th January, 2020.
Congratulations, Pilar!
The LOGOS Research Group wishes to inform young researchers in philosophy at the postdoctoral stages of their careers (PhD obtained between 01/01/2012 and 31/12/2017, check other eligibility criteria here) that the Catalan government, through its research agency AGAUR, has just issued a call for a number of 3-year postdoctoral Beatriu de Pinós fellowships.
The period of application begins 13/12/2019 and ends 03/02/2020. Applications must ultimately be presented by researchers from a Catalan institution who sponsor the relevant candidate. See:
The LOGOS Research Group (http://www.ub.edu/grc_logos/) encourages qualified candidates, working in areas within the remit of the group, to send their expression of interest to the group’s coordinator at logos.barcelona@gmail.com to solicit support. Please note (i) that the LOGOS Research Group itself is neither the grant-awarding body nor a department or a research centre, nor is it the only group based at a Spanish institution that might incorporate successful applicants; (ii) that support from members of the group is not automatic but subject to their explicit agreement in the light of the candidate’s academic profile.
The LOGOS Research Group wishes to inform young researchers in philosophy at the postdoctoral stages of their careers of the recent publication of 2 calls: (1) The Spanish ministry for research and education, the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, has just published a call for a number of 2-year postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva-formación fellowships (PhD obtained between 01/01/2018 and 31/12/2019).
(2) The same ministry has also published a call for a number of 2-year postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva-incorporación fellowships (PhD obtained between 01/01/2015 and 31/12/2017).
The Spanish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Universities published another call for PhD fellowships (type: FPU).
The selection process has two stages. Applicants passing to the second stage need support from a supervisor and a group of colleagues pursuing a joint line of research. Interested applicants are invited to browse the LOGOS webpage and contact individual LOGOS seniors members according to their research profile.
LOGOS PhD student Lisa Vogt was awarded a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for the period 01.
10.2019 – 30.09.2020 to continue work on her dissertation with Fabrice Correia at the University of Geneva. Congratulations, Lisa!
