Visiting Scholars Program

Academic visitor

An academic visitor is a doctor who has a permit from an institution of origin and requests to be hosted as a visitor at the University of Barcelona or the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona. The purpose of this stay will be to carry out independent research with their own funding with the supervision or accompaniment of a GREDI researcher. The stay will allow them to participate in and enjoy the various development environments and research resources of our universities, such as:

Institute for Research in Education
Institute of Professional Development
The Student Assistance Service (SAE)
The Learning and Research Resource Center (CRAI)

Stays can be from one month to one year.

Visiting researcher in training

A visiting researcher in training is a person who is carrying out their pre-doctoral or postgraduate studies at their institution and has permission to undertake a training stay at GREDI. This stay, supervised by a GREDI researcher, aims to integrate into some of the group's projects and initiatives for a training purpose.
Stays can be from one month to one year.

Welcome program for visiting professors or researchers

The Office of Mobility and International Programs (OMPI) manages the Welcome Program for visiting professors or researchers who are invited by a UB professor. The procedure begins in the MIDE department, with the invitation from one of the GREDI researchers and UB professors addressed to an external professor/researcher and ends in the Office of Mobility and International Programs (OMPI), with the return of the card by the invited professor/researcher, once their stay has ended.
It is mandatory for visiting professors or researchers to take out, at their own expense, health and accident insurance that includes coverage in the event of repatriation. The insurance must cover the entire period of stay at the University of Barcelona.
The UB will not be responsible or liable for the costs in the event of an accident and the need for repatriation of the visiting professor or researcher. It is recommended to make the request one month before the arrival of the visiting professor/researcher to guarantee the delivery of the card on time.
