The GREDI group (Research Group on Intercultural Education) is a consolidated group recognized by the University of Barcelona and the Generalitat of Catalonia since 1992. In the latest SGR-Cat 2021 call, it has also been consolidated as an inter-institutional group between the University of Barcelona (UB), which assumes general coordination, and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
La nostra activitat científica es defineix pel seu compromís amb la societat i una mirada crítica interseccional sobre les necessitats i problemes contemporanis per impulsar accions transformadores des d’una recerca dirigida a generar processos de canvi i ecosistemes educatius i socials més inclusius. Volem sumar aportant recursos per a treballar en xarxa des d’una òptica interdisciplinar i interprofessional, partint d’epistemologies crítiques com la Justícia Global, i la perspectiva decolonial i feminista que ofereixen un marc conceptual per l’anàlisi de les estructures d’injustícia.
To offer relevant responses to the challenge of inclusion and social cohesion from education to the community, organizational and institutional framework and with projects that investigate skills, dynamics and problems from the intercultural, interreligious dimension and especially in and from minority groups and in situations of vulnerability.
Through methodologies and projects around participatory processes to enhance social cohesion, social activism and individual and collective empowerment in various social and educational environments, such as institutions, entities, organizations, groups and social movements from a community perspective. We investigate practices, policies and strategies that facilitate inclusion, the acquisition of social skills, equity, social change and sustainable development through education.
With research that incorporates current expressions of violence, such as cyber-violence, working to raise awareness and introduce the gender perspective into institutions, programs and services; the’analysis of the genderization present in the social structure and its influence in the personal, educational, social and work areas and the awareness-raising, training and dissemination of feminist knowledge and practices.
With this line of work we promote dynamics of re-definition of research methodologies in order to approach realities in a respectful and committed way with individual and collective agencies, from all these approaches. We maintain a critical attitude that leads us to question and systematize the shapes more relevant knowledge generation, promoting, among others, non-hetero-patriarchal practices and the co-production through action in context and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) as guiding principles of our projects.











GREDI maintains a clear international projection through research projects, collaboration networks and mobility programs with universities and institutions around the world.
The group participates in doctoral and postdoctoral programs aimed at research training and attracting talent, linked to GREDI's research lines.
