David Gallardo-Pujol

A short introduction…

My research interests lie in general in understanding why we behave in a certain way or another. The most excitement for me comes from predicting specific behavior in specific situations using biological, psychological and social data. In other words, trying to understand human behavior. Also, I have an outstanding experience in developing custom-tailored solutions and personalizing behavioral target using individual differences. My latest applied activities are related to this.

I was originally interested in uncovering some genetic basis of antisocial behavior, but I was soon captivated by the phenomenon known as gene-environment (GxE) interactions. Meanwhile, I developed a strong background in personality assessment, quantitative methods and behavioral genetics that qualified me to tackle with bigger challenges. I also conducted a virtual reprise of classical experiments but evaluating several variables that were not assessed fifty years ago. This ambitious program was generously funded by the John Templeton Foundation, and is going to be the primer of my research over the next five years. I have to mention that working on this project has led me to know and tightly work with Dr., Veronica Benet-Martínez, Dr. Mel Slater, Dr. David Funder, Dr. William Fleeson or Dr. Mike Furr, just to cite few, and that allowed me doing short stays in the US for some months.

More recently, I’ve become Secretary-General of the European Association of Psychological Assessment, which has allowed me intensive collaborations with Dr. Matthias Ziegler or Dr. John Rauthmann. I have published over 50 articles in refereed journals: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=zGDZeOYAAAAJ&hl=en
